What’s the manual of use and maintenance and what’s its use?
The manual must give all the information so that all those who interact with the product will not take unnecessary and above all foreseeable and avoidable risks.
The document is developed basing on the risk analysis, which is the first activity to be carried out, in order to highlight the potential danger of the product.
The manual must provide in the simplest possible way, all the instructions to be able to install, use and maintain the product, in complete and maximum safety, making the most of its characteristics of use.
It can be presented in various forms, from a simple tiny sheet to big files, sometimes divided by type of user (for example the installer, the user and the maintainer).
It must be drawn up according to certain rules and the most complete scheme for drawing up the manual is found in the machinery directive, while other directives leave more space for the manufacturer’s initiative.
It must be written in the language of the country in which the product is distributed and in one of the official languages of the European Community.
